WINTER SEASON
Тебе письмо.
One day a postcard will land in your mailbox — from someone you've never met.
- Real. Paper. With a stamp.
- From another city or another country.
- With a few warm words and a small story.
Then we shuffle the addresses — so every postcard makes it before New Year.
One postcard. One stranger. One small event.
How it works
1
You sign up.
Tell us where you are, which language you'd like your postcard in, and what you'd enjoy reading.
2
We pick a person for you.
At random, from anywhere in the world. Nobody chooses anybody — that's the point.
3
You get an address.
Once sign-up closes, we email you one person's name and address. Only you, and only theirs.
4
You send a postcard.
Pick a card, write a few warm words by hand, and drop it in a mailbox before the date we give you.
5
A postcard comes to you.
From another participant, chosen for you. When exactly depends on the post — and that's part of the wonder.
One postcard, a thousand kilometres
We live in a world where everything happens instantly. But sometimes the most valuable things are the ones that take time. A real postcard, written by hand, with a stamp and a postmark, travels a week — or three. And all that time, someone you don't know was thinking about you for at least five minutes.
One world. Thousands of stories. Millions of postcards.
This is how the postcards will fly this winter
Let distance stop dividing us.
Who can join
Anyone who loves postcards, new people, beautiful cities and kind words. Participants must be 18 or older. No obligations except one — to send your postcard.
Why New Year
The first wave of postcards goes out before New Year. But that's only the beginning — we want letters to travel all year round.
Inspiration
Postcards we like. Yours can be anything — as long as it's written by hand.
I want a postcard
Two minutes and you're on the list. Only one person will see your address: the one who sends you a postcard.
Sign-up is open until 15 November.
Then we shuffle the addresses and send everyone their person — so the postcards make it before New Year, even the farthest ones.
Until 15 November — sign up so your postcard arrives by New Year.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
You pay only for the postcard and the stamp. If a participation fee is introduced, it will be shown before you sign up.
Who will I send a postcard to?
Someone chance picks for you. We don't show the list and don't let you choose — it's more interesting that way.
Who will see my address?
The organisers and one participant who sends you a postcard. Nobody else. Addresses are never published and are deleted after the season.
What should I write?
Anything warm: a wish, a couple of lines about your city, a favourite quote. The main thing is to write by hand.
What if my postcard never comes?
Post can be slow, especially international. If a month after the deadline there's still nothing, write to us and we'll sort it out.
Can I join from any country?
Yes. Tell us your country and language and we'll take it into account.
Can I send more than one?
One per season. If you'd like to send more, write to us — we'll think of something.
How do I withdraw?
Reply to the letter that arrives after you sign up, before sign-up closes — we'll take you off the list.
I'm sending to Russia. How do I write the address?
The letter with the address includes a Latin-letter version — copy it as is and add RUSSIA on the last line. The postal code goes on its own line.
Let's make the world a little warmer.
